Marur bin Suwayd reported,

I saw Abu Dharr wearing a cloak, and his servant was wearing a similar cloak. I said to him, "If you took this one and wore it together with yours, it would make a fine matching set, and you could give the servant another garment instead."He replied, "There were once words between me and another man, and his mother was non-Arab. I insulted her, and he reported me to the Prophet ﷺ.The Prophet ﷺ asked me, 'Did you insult so-and-so?'I said, 'Yes.'He asked, 'Did you insult his mother?'I said, 'Yes.'He said, 'You are a man in whom there is still some of the ways of ignorance.'I said, 'Even now, at my advanced age?'He said, 'Yes. They are your brothers. Allah has placed them under your authority. Whoever has his brother placed under his authority by Allah should feed him from what he eats, clothe him from what he wears, and not burden him with work beyond his capacity. If he does assign him such work, he should help him with it.'"

عن المعرور بن سويد قال

رأيت أبا ذر، وعليه بردا و على غلامه بردا، فقلت: لو أخذت هذا فلبسته كانت حلة، وأعطيته ثوبا آخر، فقال كان بيني وبين رجل كلام، وكانت أمه أعجمية، فنلت منها، فذكرني إلى النبي ﷺ، فقال لي: أساببت فلانا قلت: نعم، قال: أفنلت من أمه قلت: نعم، قال: إنك امرؤ فيك جاهلية قلت على حين ساعتي: هذه من كبر السن؟ قال: نعم، هم إخوانكم، جعلهم الله تحت أيديكم، فمن جعل الله أخاه تحت يده، فليطعمه مما يأكل، وليلبسه مما يلبس، ولا يكلفه من العمل ما يغلبه، فإن كلفه ما يغلبه فليعنه عليه.
