While I was sitting with the Prophet ﷺ, a man came, greeted him, and then turned away. I said, "Messenger of Allah, I truly love this man for the sake of Allah."The Prophet ﷺ asked, "Have you let him know that?"I replied, "No."He said, "Then go and tell your brother."So I followed him, caught up with him, took hold of his shoulder, greeted him, and said, "By Allah, I love you for the sake of Allah."He replied, "By Allah, I love you too for the sake of Allah."I said, "Had the Prophet ﷺ not commanded me to tell you, I would not have done so."

Ibn Hibban (569) narrated it, as did Tabarani in Al-Awsat - Majma Bahrayn (4989), and in Al-Kabir (12/366), both of them through routes from Azraq bin Ali Abu Jahm, who said, Hassan bin Ibrahim narrated to us, who said, Zuhayr bin Muhammad narrated to us, from Ubaydullah bin Umar, and Musa bin Uqba, from Nafi, who said, I heard Ibn Umar say, and then he mentioned it.Its chain is hasan because of Azraq bin Ali Hanafi, for he is one whose hadith is hasan. Haythami said in Al-Majma (10/282), "Tabarani narrated it in Al-Awsat and Al-Kabir, and the men of both chains are the men of the Sahih except for Azraq bin Ali and Hassan bin Ibrahim, and both of them are trustworthy."
