The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Part of revering Allah is honoring the elderly Muslim, honoring the bearer of the Quran who neither exceeds proper bounds in it nor neglects it, and honoring the just ruler."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: إن من إجلال الله إكرام ذي الشيبة المسلم، وحامل القرآن غير الغالي فيه والجافي عنه، وإكرام ذي السلطان المقسط.
Abu Dawud (4843) narrated it from Ishaq bin Ibrahim Sawwaf, who said, Abdullah bin Humran told us, Awf bin Abu Jameela informed us, from Ziyad bin Mikhraq, from Abu Kinanah, from Abu Musa Ashari, who said, then he mentioned it.Its chain is hasan because of Abu Kinanah, from whom a group of narrators reported, and Ibn Hibban deemed him trustworthy, and Ibn Hajar and others likewise graded it hasan.
