The Prophet ﷺ said from the pulpit, "Whoever does not give thanks for little will not give thanks for much, and whoever does not thank people has not thanked Allah. Speaking of Allah's blessings is gratitude, and neglecting to do so is ingratitude. Unity is mercy, and division is torment."
قال النبي ﷺ على المنبر: من لم يشكر القليل لم يشكر الكثير، ومن لم يشكر الناس لم يشكر الله، التحدث بنعمة الله شكر، وتركها كفر، والجماعة رحمة، والفرقة عذاب.
Abdullah bin Ahmad reported it in the Additions to the Musnad (18449, 19351), as did Bazzar (Kashf Astar - 1637), Ibn Abu Asim in Sunnah (93), and Bayhaqi in Shuab (8698), all of them from the hadith of Abu Waki Jarra bin Mulayh, from Abu Abdul-Rahman, from Shaybi, from Numan bin Bashir, who said, and he mentioned it.Its chain is hasan on account of Waki's father, who is Jarra bin Mulayh, and his teacher Abu Abdul-Rahman, who is the Damascene, for there is some minor criticism regarding both of them, but there is no harm in them concerning matters that have a firm basis elsewhere.Munziri mentioned it in Targhib wa Tarhib (1439), and said, "Abdullah bin Ahmad reported it, and its chain has no harm in it."
