The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Among the teachings people have inherited from the earlier prophets is this, if you feel no shame, then do as you wish."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: إن مماأدرك الناس من أمر النبوة الأولى إذا لم تستحي فاصنع ما شئت.
Ahmad (23254) and Bazzar (2835) both narrated it through Abu Muawiya, who said, "Abu Malik Ashjai (whose name is Saad bin Tariq bin Ashim) told us, from Rabi bin Harash, from Huzaifa," who said, then he related it. Its chain of transmission is sahih.Bazzar said, "There is disagreement about this hadith regarding Rabi. Mansur said it is from Rabi from Abu Masud, while Abu Malik said it is from Rabi from Huzaifa."I say, this does not preclude the possibility that Rabi bin Harash heard the hadith once from Abu Masud and once from Huzaifa. So neither version should be used to fault the other. Hafiz took this view in Fath al-Bari (6/523), saying, "It is not unlikely that Rabi heard it from both Abu Masud and Huzaifa." Some scholars have preferred the hadith of Abu Masud over that of Huzaifa, and both approaches are well known among scholars of hadith.Imam Ahmad (23441) narrated it from Yazid bin Harun, who said, "Abu Malik informed us," who said, "Rabi bin Harash told me, from Huzaifa," who said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Every good deed is charity"... the hadith continues.
