The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was shown what would be opened up for his community after him, and he was delighted by it. So Allah revealed "By the morning brightness, and by the night when it covers" [Duha 93:1–2], up to His saying "And your Lord is going to give you, and you will be satisfied" [Duha 93:5].He said, "So He granted him a thousand palaces in Paradise made of pearl, their soil being musk, each palace containing whatever befits him."
أري رسول الله ﷺ ما يفتح على أمته من بعده، فسر بذلك، فأنزل الله {والضحى واليل إذا سجى} إلى قوله {ولسوف يعطيك ربك فترضى} قال: فأعطاه ألف قصر في الجنة من لؤلؤ ترابه المسك، في كل قصر منها ما ينبغي له.

Ibn Jareer narrated it in his Tafsir (24/487-488), Tabarani in al-Kabir (10/337), Hakim (2/526), and this is his wording, Bayhaqi in al-Dalail (7/61), and Wahidi in Asbab al-Nuzul (pp. 490-491), all of them through various routes from Uzai, from Ismail bin Ubaydullah bin Abu al-Muhajir al-Makhzumi, from Ali bin Abdullah bin Abbas, from his father, and he related it. Its chain of transmission is sahih. Hakim said, "This is a hadith with a sahih chain of transmission."
