The Messenger of Allah ﷺ fell ill and did not rise for prayer for two or three nights. A woman came to him and said, "Muhammad, I hope your devil has finally left you. I have not seen him come near you for two or three nights now."Then Allah the Exalted revealed, "By the morning brightness, and by the night when it grows still, your Lord has not forsaken you, nor does He despise you" [Duha 93:1–3].
اشتكى رسول الله ﷺ فلم يقم ليلتين أو ثلاثا، فجاءته امرأة، فقالت: يا محمد، إني لأرجو أن يكون شيطانك قد تركك، لم أره قربك منذ ليلتين أو ثلاث، قال: فأنزل الله تعالى: {والضحى واليل إذا سجى ما ودعك ربك وما قلى}
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Tafsir (4950), and Muslim narrated it in the Book of Jihad (1797: 115), both of them through Zuhayr, from Aswad bin Qays, who said, "I heard Jundab bin Sufyan," and he mentioned it.This woman is the wife of Abu Lahab, the carrier of firewood, whose name was Awra bint Harb, the sister of Abu Sufyan, and whose kunyah was Umm Jamil.
