The Prophet ﷺ said, "The ten are the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, the odd is the Day of Arafah, and the even is the Day of Sacrifice."
عن النبي ﷺ وقال: إن العشر عشر الأضحى، والوتر يوم عرفة، والشفع يوم النحر.
Ahmad (14511), Bazzar in Kashf Astar (2286), Nasai in Kubra (11608), and Hakim (4/220) all narrated it through the route of Zayd bin Hubab, who said, Ayyash bin Uqba narrated to us, Khayr bin Nueim narrated to me, from Abu Zubayr, from Jabir bin Abdullah, who related it. Its chain of transmission is hasan, for all the narrators in the chain are hasan al-hadith.Haythami said in Majma (7/137), "Bazzar and Ahmad narrated it, and their narrators are the narrators of Sahih, except for Ayyash bin Uqba, who is trustworthy."Hakim said, "This is a sahih hadith according to the criterion of Muslim."His statement, "the ten are the ten days of Adha," is the view of many scholars, and hadiths have been reported regarding its merit, including the following.
