The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform the witr prayer reciting "Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High" [Ala 87:1], "Say, O disbelievers" [Kafirun 109:1], and "Say, He is Allah, the One" [Ikhlas 112:1].
كان رسول الله ﷺ يوتر ب{سبح اسم ربك الأعلى} و{قل يأيها الكفرون} و {قل هو الله أحد}.
Narrated by Abu Dawud (1423), Ibn Majah (1171), Ahmad (21141), Ibn Hibban (2436), and Hakim (2/257), all from the hadith of Abu Hafs Aabar, who said, "Amash narrated to us, from Talha and Zubayd, from Saeed bin Abdul-Rahman bin Abza, from his father, from Ubayy bin Kaab," and he mentioned it.Ibn Majah added, between Talha and Zubayd, "Dhirr," who is Ibn Abdullah Marhabi, a trustworthy narrator. Its chain of transmission is sahih, and Nawawi also declared it sahih in al-Khulasa (1886).
