When I arrived in Najran, the people there asked me, "You recite, 'Sister of Harun,' yet Musa came long before Isa by such and such a span of time."When I returned to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, I asked him about this, and he replied, "They used to name their children after their prophets and the righteous people who came before them."
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Manners (2135) through several routes from Ibn Idris, from his father, from Simak bin Harb, from Alqama bin Waail, from Mughira bin Shuba, who said, and then he mentioned it.This means that Mary, the mother of Isa, is not the sister of the Harun who was the brother of Musa. Rather, she is the sister of another Harun, named after Harun the brother of Musa, because he belonged to his tribe.Other hadiths have also been narrated concerning the virtues of Asiya and Mary, and they are mentioned in the book Akhbar al-Madin.
