The Prophet ﷺ got up at night, relieved himself, then washed his face and hands, and went back to sleep.
أن النبي ﷺ قام من الليل، فقضى حاجته، ثم غسل وجهه، ويديه، ثم نام.
Bukhari (6316) and Muslim (304) both narrated it via Sufyan, from Salama bin Kuhayl, from Kurayb, from Ibn Abbas, mentioning something similar. The wording given here is Muslim's. As for Bukhari, he mentioned it in a longer context, see the book of wudu, chapter, "Sleep is not an event that invalidates wudu, but rather a state that raises the likelihood of it."
