Zayd bin Arqam reported,

We went out with the Prophet ﷺ on a journey in which the people suffered hardship. Abdullah bin Ubayy said to his companions, "Do not spend on those who are with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ until they disperse from around him." And he said, "If we return to Madinah, the mightier will surely drive out the weaker from it."I came to the Prophet ﷺ and told him. He sent for Abdullah bin Ubayy and questioned him, and he swore emphatically that he had not done it.They said, "Zayd has lied to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."What they said weighed heavily on me, until Allah عز وجل revealed confirming my truthfulness "When the hypocrites come to you" [Munafiqun 63:1].Then the Prophet ﷺ called them so that he might seek forgiveness for them, but they turned their heads away.Regarding His words "like propped up timber" [Munafiqun 63:4], he said, "They were the most handsome of men."
