The companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Messenger of Allah, tell us about yourself."He said, "I am the answer to the prayer of my father Ibrahim, the glad tiding of Isa, and my mother, when she was pregnant with me, saw that a light came out from her by which the palaces of Busra were illuminated."Busra is a place in the land of Sham.
عن أصحاب رسول الله ﷺ أنهم قالوا: يا رسول الله! أخبرني عن نفسك. قال: دعوة أبي إبراهيم، وبشرى عيسى، ورأت أمي حين حملت بي أنه خرج منها نور أضاءت له بصرى. و بصرى من أرض الشام.
Ibn Ishaq related it in the Sirah, section (33), saying, "Thawr bin Yazid narrated to me, from Khalid bin Madan," and he mentioned it.From his route, Tabari also transmitted it in his Tafsir (2/573), as did Hakim (2/600) and Bayhaqi in the Dalail (1/83), and Hakim graded it sahih.Its chain is hasan because of Muhammad bin Ishaq, since he stated clearly that he had heard it directly. Hafiz bin Kathir said, "This is a good chain."
