The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "While I was sleeping, I saw people being presented before me, each wearing a shirt. Some of the shirts reached the chest and others fell below that. Then Umar bin Khattab was presented before me wearing a shirt so long he was dragging it along."They asked, "How did you interpret that, Messenger of Allah?"He replied, "Religion."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: بينما أنا نائم رأيت الناس يعرضون علي، وعليهم قميص منها ما يبلغ الثدي ومنها ما دون ذلك، وعرض علي عمر بن الخطاب وعليه قميص يجره قالوا: فما أولت ذلك يا رسول الله؟ قال: الدين.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Faith (23), and Muslim in the Book of Virtues (2390), both of them from Ibrahim bin Saad, from Salih bin Kaysan, from Ibn Shihab, from Abu Umama bin Sahl, that he heard Abu Saeed Khudri, and he related it.
