I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ mention the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary. He said, "A rider travels in the shade of one of its branches for a hundred years," or he said, "a hundred riders take shelter in its shade." Yahya was uncertain which wording was used. "In it are golden butterflies, and its fruits are like large clay jars."
سمعت رسول الله ﷺ، وذكر سدرة المنتهى، قال: يسير الراكب في ظل الفنن منها مائة سنة، أو يستظل بظلها مائة راكب، - شك يحيى- فيها فراش الذهب، كأن ثمرها القلال.
Tirmidhi (2541), Hannad bin Sari in Zuhd (115), Hakim (2/469), and Ibn Jareer Tabari in his Tafsir (22/38–39) all narrated it through the route of Yunus bin Bukayr, who said, Muhammad bin Ishaq narrated to us, from Yahya bin Abbad bin Abdullah bin Zubayr, from his father, from Asma bint Abu Bakr, who said, and she mentioned it.Its chain is hasan because of Muhammad bin Ishaq, since he explicitly stated that he heard the narration directly, as found in Hannad's version. Tirmidhi said, "Hasan sahih gharib," and in one copy, "Hasan gharib." Hakim said, "This is a sahih hadith according to the criterion of Muslim."
