Umar bin Khattab asked Abu Waqid al-Laythi, "What did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite during the prayers of Adha and Fitr?"He replied, "He used to recite 'Qaf. By the glorious Quran' [Qaf 50:1] and 'The Hour has drawn near, and the moon has split' [Qamar 54:1]."
أن عمر بن الخطاب سأل أبا واقد الليثي: ما كان يقرأ به رسول الله ﷺ في الأضحى والفطر؟ فقال: كان يقرأ ب {ق والقرآن المجيد} [ق: ١] {اقتربت الساعة وانشق القمر}
Malik narrated it in "Eid Prayers" (8) from Damra bin Saeed Mazini, from Ubaydullah bin Abdullah bin Utba bin Masud with this chain. Muslim also narrated it in "Eid Prayers" (891) through the route of Malik with this chain.
