Abu Tufayl reported,

He said, when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ conquered Mecca, he sent Khalid bin Walid to Nakhlah, where al-Uzza was located. Khalid bin Walid came to it, and it stood upon the hills of acacia trees. He cut down the acacia trees and demolished the house that was built over it. Then he came to the Prophet ﷺ and informed him.The Prophet ﷺ said, "Go back, for you have done nothing."So Khalid returned. When the custodians, who were its keepers, saw him, they fled deep into the mountain, crying out, "Uzza, strike him with madness! Uzza, blind him! Otherwise, die in disgrace!"He said, then Khalid came upon her, and there was a naked woman with disheveled hair pouring dust upon her head. He struck her with the sword and killed her. Then he returned to the Prophet ﷺ and informed him.The Prophet ﷺ said, "That was al-Uzza."
