Bara bin Azib reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ delivered a sermon to us so loudly that even the unmarried women could hear it in their homes, or he said, in their private chambers. He said, "You who have believed with your tongues, do not backbite the Muslims, and do not seek out their faults. Whoever seeks out his brother's faults, Allah will seek out his faults, and whoever has his faults sought out by Allah will be exposed by Him even in the depths of his own home."

His saying, "O you who believe, avoid much suspicion, for indeed some suspicion is sin. And do not spy or backbite one another. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would detest it. And fear Allah, indeed"
