The Messenger of Allah ﷺ delivered a sermon to us so loudly that even the unmarried women could hear it in their homes, or he said, in their private chambers. He said, "You who have believed with your tongues, do not backbite the Muslims, and do not seek out their faults. Whoever seeks out his brother's faults, Allah will seek out his faults, and whoever has his faults sought out by Allah will be exposed by Him even in the depths of his own home."
Abu Yaala (1675) narrated it from Ibrahim bin Dinar, who said, "Musab bin Salam told us, from Hamza bin Habib Zayyat, from Abu Ishaq Sabi, from Bara," and he related it.Hamza bin Habib Zayyat is hasan al-hadith. It has been said that he heard from Abu Ishaq Sabi after the latter's confusion set in, but this hadith of his has a basis, and this is evidence of his sound memory and that no confusion affected him in this particular hadith.
