The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The believers will be saved from the Fire, then they will be detained on a bridge between Paradise and the Fire. There, retribution will be settled among them for wrongs they committed against one another in this world. Once they have been refined and purified, they will be given permission to enter Paradise. By the One in whose hand is Muhammad's soul, each of them will know the way to his dwelling in Paradise better than he knew the way to his dwelling in this world."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: يخلص المؤمنون من النار، فيحبسون على قنطرة بين الجنة والنار، فيقص لبعضهم من بعض مظالم كانت بينهم في الدنيا، حتى إذا هذبوا ونقوا أذن لهم في دخول الجنة، فوالذي نفس محمد بيده! لأحدهم أهدى بمنزله في الجنة منه بمنزله كان في الدنيا.
Bukhari narrated it in the chapter on Riqaq (6535), from Salit bin Muhammad, who said, Yazid bin Zuray narrated to us, who said, Saeed narrated to us, from Qatada, from Abu Mutawakkil Naji, that Abu Saeed Khudri mentioned it.
