Tawsa reported,

Ibn Abbas was asked about the words of Allah Most High, "Except love for kinship" [Shura 42:23].Saeed bin Jubayr said, "It refers to the kin of the family of Muhammad ﷺ."Ibn Abbas replied, "You have been hasty. There was no clan of Quraysh in which the Prophet ﷺ did not have relatives. So he said, 'Except that you maintain the ties of kinship between me and you.'"
