The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I have been given five things that no one before me was given. Every prophet was sent only to his own people, but I have been sent to every red and black person. The spoils of war have been made lawful for me, though they were not lawful for anyone before me. The earth has been made for me a place of purity and a place of prayer, so whenever the time of prayer comes upon a man, he may pray wherever he is. I have been aided with awe striking fear into my enemies from a month's distance away. And I have been granted the right of intercession."
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Tayammum (335), and Muslim in the Book of Mosques (521), both through Hushaym, who said, Sayyar told us, Yazid the jurist told us, from Jabir bin Abdullah, and he related it. The wording given here is Muslim's. There are many hadiths on this subject, mentioned in the Book of Jihad and the Book of Sirah.
