Talha reported,
The companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to an ignorant Arabi, "Ask him about who has fulfilled his vow, who is he?" They themselves would not dare to question him, out of reverence and awe for him.So the Arabi asked him, but he turned away. Then he asked him again, and he turned away. Then he asked him a third time, and he turned away.Then I appeared at the door of the mosque wearing green garments. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw me, he said, "Where is the one who was asking about who has fulfilled his vow?"The Arabi said, "I am, Messenger of Allah."He said, "This man is among those who have fulfilled their vow."

أن أصحاب رسول الله ﷺ قالوا لأعرابي جاهل: سله عمن قضى نحبه من هو؟ وكانوا لا يجترئون على مسألته، يوقرونه ويهابونه، فسأله الأعرابي فأعرض عنه، ثم سأله فأعرض عنه، ثم سأله فأعرض عنه، ثم إني اطلعت من باب المسجد، وعلي ثياب خضر، فلما رآني رسول الله ﷺ قال: أين السائل عمن قضى نحبه. قال الأعرابي أنا يا رسول الله. قال: هذا ممن قضى نحبه.
Tirmidhi (3203, 3742), Bazzar (943), and Abu Yaala (663) all reported it through the route of Yunus bin Bukayr, who said, Talha bin Yahya related to us, from Musa and Isa, the two sons of Talha, from their father Talha, and he mentioned it.Tirmidhi said, "This is a hasan gharib hadith. We do not know it except through the hadith of Abu Kurayb from Yunus bin Bukayr. More than one of the senior scholars of hadith reported it from Abu Kurayb with this hadith. I heard Muhammad bin Ismail relate this from Abu Kurayb, and he placed it in his book Fawaid."It is as he said, for Talha bin Yahya is disputed, though his hadith is hasan, and he has been corroborated.Tabarani reported it in Kabir (1/76) from Yahya bin Uthman bin Salih, who said, Sulayman bin Ayub related to us, saying, my father related to me, from my grandfather, from Musa bin Talha, from his father, who said, "When the Prophet ﷺ returned from Uhud, he ascended the pulpit, praised Allah 
and glorified Him, then recited this verse, "Men who have been true to what they pledged to Allah" [Ahzab 33:23] to the end of the verse. A man then stood up to him and said, 'Messenger of Allah, who are these?' Then I came forward, wearing two green garments, and he said, 'O questioner, this is one of them.'"Sulayman bin Ayub is the son of Sulayman bin Isa bin Musa Talhi. Ibn Adi said of him, "Most of his hadiths are not corroborated." Yaqub bin Shayba deemed him reliable, and Ibn Hibban mentioned him among the trustworthy narrators. His father and grandfather are unknown, with no reliable authentication found for either of them, but there is no harm in relying on them for corroboration.On this subject there is also what has been reported from Musa bin Talha, who said, "I entered upon Muawiya, and he said, 'Shall I not give you good news?' I said, 'Yes.' He said, 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Talha is among those who fulfilled their vow."'"This was reported by Tirmidhi (3202, 3740) and Ibn Majah (126, 127), both through the route of Ishaq bin Yahya bin Talha, from his uncle Musa bin Talha, who said, and he mentioned it.Tirmidhi said, "This is a gharib hadith. We do not know it as a hadith of Muawiya except through this route, and it has only been reported from Musa bin Talha from his father," meaning by this the hadith mentioned earlier, the hadith of Talha bin Ubaydullah.It is as he said, for Ishaq bin Yahya bin Talha is daif by the agreement of the scholars.
