The Prophet ﷺ said, "I was given victory through the east wind, and Aad was destroyed by the west wind."
عن النبي ﷺ قال: نصرت بالصبا، وأهلكت عاد بالدبور.
Narrated by Bukhari in the Book of Military Expeditions (4105) and Muslim in the Book of the Prayer for Rain (17:900), both through the route of Shubah, who said, Hakam told me, from Mujahid, from Ibn Abbas, from the Prophet ﷺ, who said, then he mentioned it.His saying, "I was given victory by the Saba wind," with a fatha on the unpointed letter and a light (unshaddaed) letter ba, refers to the eastern wind. His saying, "the Dabur," refers to the western wind.
