This verse was revealed concerning ten people, and I am one of them, "And We have certainly conveyed to them the Word that they might be reminded. Those to whom We gave the Scripture before it, they believe in it. And when it is recited to them, they say, 'We have believed in it. Indeed, it is the truth from our Lord. Indeed we were, even before it, Muslims.' Those will be given their reward twice for what they patiently endured and they avert evil through good, and from what We have provided them they spend" [Qasas 28:51–54].
نزلت هذه الآية في عشرة، أنا أحدهم {ولقد وصلنا لهم القول لعلهم يتذكرون الذين آتيناهم الكتاب من قبله هم به يؤمنون وإذا يتلى عليهم قالوا آمنا به إنه الحق من ربنا إنا كنا من قبله مسلمين أولئك يؤتون أجرهم مرتين بما صبروا ويدرءون بالحسنة السيئة ومما رزقناهم ينفقون}

Ibn Jareer reported it in his Tafsir (18/276), Ibn Abu Hatim in his Tafsir (9/97 - 2988), and Tabarani in Al-Kabir (5/46-47), all of them through the route of Hammad bin Salama, who said, Amr bin Dinar narrated to us, from Yahya bin Jadah, from Rifa Qurazi, and he mentioned it. Its chain is sahih.His saying, "Those will be given their reward twice" [Qasas 28:54]. This is because the People of the Book, for their faith in their own prophet and then for their faith in the Prophet ﷺ, are given their reward twice, as has come in the sahih.
