The Prophet ﷺ was asked about the major sins. He said, "Associating partners with Allah, disobedience to parents, taking a life, and giving false testimony."
سئل النبي ﷺ عن الكبائر. قال: الإشراك بالله، وعقوق الوالدين، وقتل النفس، وشهادة الزور.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Testimonies (2653), and Muslim in the Book of Faith (88:144), both of them via Shubah, who said, Ubaydullah bin Abu Bakr bin Anas informed us, from Anas, and he mentioned it.
