Ayesha used to recite "When you received it with your tongues" [Nur 24:15], and she would say, "Al-walq means lying."Ibn Abu Mulaykah commented, "She knew this better than anyone else, because the verse was revealed concerning her."
عائشة كانت تقرأ {اذ تلقونه بالسنتكم} وتقول: الولق: الكذب. قال ابن ابي مليكة: وكانت اعلم من غيرها بذلك؛ لانه نزل فيها.
Bukhari related it in the Book of Military Expeditions (4144) from Yahya, who said, Waki narrated to us, from Nafi bin Umar, from Ibn Abu Mulayka (who is Abdullah bin Ubaydullah), and he mentioned it.Al-walaq means speed in lying. The well-known reading is "When you were repeating it with your tongues" [Nur 24:15].
