The Messenger of Allah ﷺ dispatched us on a military expedition and instructed us to recite, when we entered the evening and the morning, "Did you then think that We had created you in vain" [Muminun 23:115]. So we recited it, and we returned with spoils and in safety.
وجهنا رسول الله ﷺ في سرية، فأمرنا أن نقول إذا نحن أمسينا وأصبحنا: {أفحسبتم أنما خلقنكم عبثا} فقرأناها، فغنمنا، وسلمنا.

Abu Naeem narrated it in Marifat al-Sahaba (728) from Abu Ahmad Ghatrifi, who said, Zakariya Saji narrated to us, who said, Yazid bin Yusuf bin Amr narrated to us, who said, Khalid bin Nizar narrated to us, who said, Sufyan bin Uyayna narrated to us, from Muhammad bin Munkadir, from Muhammad bin Ibrahim bin Harith Taymi, from his father, who said, then he mentioned it.Its isnad is hasan because of Khalid bin Nizar, for he is hasan in hadith. Ibn Hajar said in Isabah, in the biography of Ibrahim bin Harith bin Khalid Taymi, "Its isnad is not objectionable."
