Abu Hurairah reported,

Abu Hurairah said, "People say that Abu Hurairah narrates too much. Were it not for two verses in the Book of Allah, I would not have narrated a single hadith." Then he would recite, "Those who conceal what We have revealed of clear proofs and guidance, after We have made it clear to the people in the Scripture, upon them is the curse of Allah and the curse of those who curse," up to His words, "the Merciful" [Baqarah 2:159–160]."Our brothers among the Emigrants were kept busy by their trading in the markets, and our brothers among the Helpers were kept busy by working their properties. But Abu Hurairah stayed close to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for no more than a full stomach, so he was present when they were absent, and he remembered what they did not remember."
