One morning the Messenger of Allah ﷺ spoke about the Dajjal, and in the account he said, "Something other than the Dajjal is what I fear most for you. If he comes out while I am still among you, I will be the one to contend with him on your behalf. But if he comes out when I am no longer among you, then each person must contend for himself, and Allah will be my successor over every Muslim. He is a young man with very curly hair and a floating eye. To me he resembles Abd al-Uzza bin Qatan. Whoever among you reaches his time should recite over him the opening verses of Surat al-Kahf."The hadith continues at length.
ذكر رسول الله ﷺ الدجال ذات غداة… وفيه: فقال غير الدجال أخوفني عليكم، إن يخرج وأنا فيكم فأنا حجيجه دونكم، وإن يخرج ولست فيكم فامرؤ حجيج نفسه، والله خليفني على كل مسلم، إنه شاب قطط، عينه طائتة، كأني أشبهه بعبد العزى بن قطن، فمن أدركه منكم فليقرأ عليه فواتح سورة الكهف… الحديث بطوله.
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Tribulations and the Signs of the Hour (2937), via Walid bin Muslim, who said, "Abdul-Rahman bin Yazid bin Jabir told me, Yahya bin Jabir Tai, the judge of Hims, told me, Abdul-Rahman bin Jubayr told me, from his father Jubayr bin Nufayr Hadrami, that he heard Nawas bin Saman Kilabi," and he related it.The hadith in full is mentioned in the Signs of the Hour, in the chapter on the emergence of Dajjal and what has been said about his description.
