He heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "When Quraysh rejected my account, I stood up in the Hijr, and Allah unveiled Bayt al-Maqdis before me, so I began to describe its features to them while I was looking at it."
أنه سمع رسول الله ﷺ يقول: لما كذبني قريش، قمت في الحجر، فجلا الله لي بيت المقدس، فطفقت أخبرهم عن آياته، وأنا أنظر إليه.
Bukhari narrated it in the Virtues of the Ansar (3886), and Muslim in the Book of Faith (170), both through the route of Layth, from Aqeel, from Ibn Shihab Zuhri, who said, Abu Salama bin Abdul-Rahman told me, I heard Jabir bin Abdullah, and he narrated it.
