Abu Dharr reported,

Anas bin Malik used to narrate that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The roof of my house was opened while I was in Mecca, and Jibreel ﷺ descended. He split open my chest, then washed it with water from Zamzam. Then he brought a basin of gold filled with wisdom and faith, emptied it into my chest, and closed it up. Then he took me by the hand and ascended with me to the heaven. When we reached the lowest heaven, Jibreel said to its keeper, 'Open up.'The keeper asked, 'Who is this?'He replied, 'This is Jibreel.'The keeper asked, 'Is anyone with you?'He answered, 'Yes, Muhammad ﷺ is with me.'The keeper asked, 'Has he been sent for?'He said, 'Yes,' and the gate was opened. When we ascended to the lowest heaven, there was a man with shadowy figures on his right and shadowy figures on his left. When he looked to his right, he laughed, and when he looked to his left, he wept. He said, 'Welcome to the righteous Prophet and the righteous son.'I asked, 'Jibreel, who is this?'He answered, 'This is Adam عليه السلام, and these shadowy figures on his right and left are the souls of his descendants. Those on his right are the people of Paradise, and the shadowy figures on his left are the people of the Fire. So when he looks to his right he laughs, and when he looks to his left he weeps.'Then Jibreel ascended with me until he came to the second heaven and said to its keeper, 'Open up.' Its keeper said the same as the keeper of the lowest heaven had said, then opened up."Anas bin Malik said that he mentioned that he found in the heavens Adam, Idris, Isa, Musa, and Ibrahim, may the blessings of Allah be upon them all, but he did not establish exactly where each of them was situated, except that he mentioned that he found Adam عليه السلام in the lowest heaven and Ibrahim in the sixth heaven. He said, "When Jibreel and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by Idris, blessings of Allah be upon him, he said, 'Welcome to the righteous Prophet and the righteous brother.' Then I passed on, and I asked, 'Who was that?'He said, 'That was Idris.'Then I passed by Musa عليه السلام, and he said, 'Welcome to the righteous Prophet and the righteous brother.'I asked, 'Who is this?'He said, 'This is Musa.'Then I passed by Isa, and he said, 'Welcome to the righteous Prophet and the righteous brother.'I asked, 'Who is this?'He said, 'This is Isa son of Maryam.'Then I passed by Ibrahim عليه السلام, and he said, 'Welcome to the righteous Prophet and the righteous son.'I asked, 'Who is this?'He said, 'This is Ibrahim.'"Ibn Shihab said, Ibn Hazm informed me that Ibn Abbas and Abu Habba al-Ansari used to say that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Then I was taken up until I reached a level where I could hear the scratching of the pens."Ibn Hazm and Anas bin Malik said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah prescribed fifty prayers upon my community. I returned with that, and when I passed by Musa, Musa عليه السلام asked, 'What has your Lord prescribed for your community?'I said, 'He has prescribed fifty prayers for them.'Musa عليه السلام said to me, 'Go back to your Lord, for your community cannot bear that.'So I returned to my Lord, and He reduced it by half. I went back to Musa عليه السلام and informed him.He said, 'Go back to your Lord, for your community cannot bear that.'So I returned to my Lord, and He said, 'They are five, and they are fifty. The word is not changed before Me.'I went back to Musa, and he said, 'Go back to your Lord.'I said, 'I feel ashamed before my Lord.'Then Jibreel took me until we came to the Lote-Tree of the Utmost Boundary, which was covered by colors I cannot describe. Then I was admitted into Paradise, and there were domes of pearl, and its soil was musk."
