Abdullah bin Abbas reported,

Ibn Abbas said, "Allah favored Muhammad ﷺ above the prophets, peace be upon them, and above the inhabitants of the heavens."They asked, "Ibn Abbas, in what way did He favor him above the inhabitants of the heavens?"He replied, "Allah said to the inhabitants of the heavens, 'And whoever among them should say, I am a god besides Him, that one We would recompense with Hell. Thus do We recompense the wrongdoers' [Anbiya 21:29], while Allah Almighty said to Muhammad ﷺ, 'Indeed, We have granted you a clear victory' [Fath 48:1–2]."They asked, "And in what way did He favor him above the prophets, peace be upon them?"He replied, "Allah عز وجل said, 'And We sent no messenger except in the language of his people, so that he might make things clear to them' [Ibrahim 14:4], but Allah عز وجل said to Muhammad ﷺ, 'And We have not sent you except comprehensively to all people as a bringer of good tidings and a warner, but most people do not know' [Saba 34:28]. So He sent him to the jinn and to mankind alike."
