I entered upon the Prophet ﷺ, having tied up my camel at the door. Some people from the tribe of Banu Tamim came to him, and he said, "Receive the good news, Banu Tamim."They replied, "You have given us good news, so give us something." He said this twice. Then some people from Yemen entered, and he said, "Receive the good news, people of Yemen, since Banu Tamim would not accept it."They said, "We accept it, Messenger of Allah. We have come to ask you about this matter."He said, "Allah existed and nothing existed besides Him. His Throne was upon the water. He wrote everything in the Reminder, and He created the heavens and the earth."Then a caller called out, "Your camel has gone, son of Husayn!"So I set off, and there she was, with the mirage cutting her off from my sight. By Allah, I wish I had left her alone.
Bukhari narrated it in the chapter on the Beginning of Creation (3191), from Umar bin Hafs bin Ghiyath, who said, my father narrated to us, who said, Amash narrated to us, who said, Jami bin Shaddad narrated to us, from Safwan bin Mihraz, who narrated to him from Imran bin Husayn, who said, and then he mentioned it.
