I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say from the pulpit, "And prepare against them whatever force you can muster" [Anfal 8:60]. "Indeed, force is archery. Indeed, force is archery. Indeed, force is archery."
سمعت رسول الله ﷺ وهو على المنبر يقول: {وأعدوا لهم ما استطعتم من قوة} ألا إن القوة الرمي، ألا إن القوة الرمي، ألا إن القوة الرمي.
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Governance (1917) from Harun bin Maruf, who said, Ibn Wahb informed us, who said, Amr bin Harith informed me, from Abu Ali Thumama bin Shufayy, that he heard Uqba bin Amir say, and then he mentioned it. And His saying, "and of horses tethered for battle" [Anfal 8:60]
