Ibn Umar came out to us, and a man asked him, "What is your view on fighting in times of civil strife?"He replied, "Do you even know what fitnah is? Muhammad ﷺ fought the polytheists, and engaging them was the fitnah. It was nothing like your fighting for the sake of power."
خرج علينا- أو إلينا- ابن عمر، فقال رجل: كيف ترى في قتال الفتنة؟ فقال: وهل تدري ما الفتنة؟ كان محمد ﷺ يقاتل المشركين، وكان الدخول عليهم فتنة، وليس كقتالكم على الملك.
