Abdullah bin Abbas reported,

The people of the Jahiliyyah used to circle the House naked, so Allah revealed, "And their prayer at the House was nothing but whistling and clapping" [Anfal 8:35].He said, muka means whistling, and tasdiya means clapping. And He revealed concerning them, "Say, 'Who has forbidden the adornment of Allah which He brought forth for His servants, and the good things of provision?' Say, 'They are for those who believed during the life of this world, exclusively theirs on the Day of Resurrection.' This is how We make the verses clear for a people who know" [Araf 7:32].
