ﷺ said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The Children of Israil were told, 'Enter the gate prostrating and say, Relieve us of our burdens, and We shall forgive you your sins' [Baqarah 2:58]. But they altered the command, entering while dragging themselves on their backsides and saying, 'A grain in a hair.'"
Bukhari related it in tafsir (4641), and Muslim in tafsir (3015), both through Abdul-Razzaq, who said, Mamar told us, from Hammam bin Munabbih, that he heard Abu Hurairah say, then he mentioned it. The wording given is Bukhari's, and Muslim's wording is similar.
