Miqdad said on the day of Badr, "Messenger of Allah, we will not say to you what the Children of Israil said to Musa, 'Go, you and your Lord, and fight. We will sit here' [Maidah 5:24]. Rather, march on, and we are with you."It was as if a burden had been lifted from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
قال المقداد يوم بدر: يارسول الله، إنا لا نقول لك كما قالت بنو إسرائيل لموسى{فاذهب أنت وربك فقتلا إنا ههنا قعدون} ولكن امض ونحن معك، فكأنه سري من رسول الله ﷺ.
Bukhari narrated it in tafsir (4609) through several routes from Masruq, from Tariq bin Shihab, "I heard Abdullah bin Masud say," and then he mentioned it.He also narrated it in the chapters on military expeditions (3952) with the same chain, and in it he said, "But we will fight on your right, on your left, in front of you, and behind you." He said, "I saw the Prophet's ﷺ face light up, and he was pleased," meaning by his statement.
