Muslim narrated it in the Book of Suckling (1468:60), and this wording is his, and Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Marriage (5184), both from the hadith of Abu Zinad, from Araj, from Abu Hurairah, who said, and then mentioned it as before.Ibn Jareer Tabari narrated in his Tafsir (6/341–342) from Ibn Humayd, who said, Salama told us, from Ibn Ishaq, who said, "Drowsiness was cast upon Adam ﷺ, as has reached us from the People of the Book among the people of the Torah, and others among the people of knowledge, from Abdullah bin Abbas and others, then a rib was taken from his ribs, from his left side, and its place was healed over, while Adam was asleep and had not woken from his sleep, until Allah created from that rib of his his wife Eve, forming her into a woman so that he might find comfort in her. Then when the drowsiness lifted from him and he awoke from his sleep, he saw her beside him, so he said, as they claim, and Allah knows best, 'My flesh, my blood, and my wife!' So he found comfort in her."Its chain of transmission is disconnected. As for his statement "from the people of the Torah," this is indeed so, for something similar appears in the Book of Genesis (2:21–22).
