The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had his front tooth broken on the day of Uhud and his head was wounded. He began wiping the blood from himself, saying, "How can a people prosper who have wounded their prophet and broken his tooth while he is calling them to Allah?" So Allah revealed, "Not for you, [O Muhammad, but for Allah], is the decision" [Al Imran 3:128].
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Jihad and Expeditions (104:1791), from Abdullah bin Maslama bin Qanab, who said, "Hammad bin Salama narrated to us, from Thabit, from Anas," and he related it.Bukhari mentioned it in the Book of Military Expeditions (4068) as a suspended narration, from Humayd and Thabit, from Anas, in a similar wording.
