Anas bin Malik reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had his front tooth broken on the day of Uhud and his head was wounded. He began wiping the blood from himself, saying, "How can a people prosper who have wounded their prophet and broken his tooth while he is calling them to Allah?" So Allah عز وجل revealed, "Not for you, [O Muhammad, but for Allah], is the decision" [Al Imran 3:128].
