Ayesha reported,

Aisha reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited, "It is He who has sent down to you the Book. In it are verses clear and decisive, they are the foundation of the Book, and others are open to interpretation. As for those in whose hearts there is deviation, they pursue what is open to interpretation in it, seeking discord and seeking to twist its meaning. Yet none knows its true meaning except Allah. And those firmly grounded in knowledge say, 'We believe in it. All of it is from our Lord.' But none take heed except people of understanding" [Al Imran 3:7].She said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said, "When you see those who pursue what is open to interpretation in it, they are the ones Allah has named, so beware of them."

His saying, "It is He Who has sent down to you the Book. In it are verses that are entirely clear, they are the foundation of the Book, and others not entirely clear. So as for those in whose hearts there is a deviation, they follow that which is not entirely clear thereof, seeking fitnah and seeking its interpretation. And none knows its interpretation except Allah. And those firm in knowledge say, 'We believe in it, all of it is from our Lord.' And none will take heed except those of understanding."
