Jabir bin Abdullah and Abu Saeed Khudri reported,

We traveled with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and some of us fasted while others did not, and neither group found fault with the other.

His saying, "The month of Ramadan in which the Quran was revealed as guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever among you witnesses the month, let him fast it, and whoever is ill or on a journey, then a number of other days. Allah intends ease for you and does not intend hardship for you, and so that you may complete the number and glorify Allah for having guided you, and that you may be grateful."

Zia-ur-Rahman Azami

Muslim narrated it in the Book of Fasting (1117) through several routes from Marwan bin Muawiya, from Asim, who said, I heard Abu Nadra narrating from Abu Saeed Khudri and Jabir bin Abdullah, who both said, and he mentioned it.And the words of Allah Most High, "and that you complete the number" [Baqarah 2:185].
