Abu Jahl said, "If I see Muhammad praying at the Kaabah, I will go up to him and stamp on his neck."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Had he done so, the angels would have seized him in plain sight. And if the Jews wished for death, they would die and see their seats in the Fire. And had those who came to engage in mutual imprecation with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gone through with it, they would have returned to find neither wealth nor family."
Ahmad (2226), Bazzar (10995), and Nasai in Kubra (10995), with this wording, and Abu Yaala (2604) all narrated it through different routes from Ubaydullah bin Amr, from Abdul-Kareem Jazari, from Ikrima, from Ibn Abbas, who related it. Its chain of transmission is sahih.
