The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "On the night I was taken on the night journey, I passed by people whose lips were being cut with scissors of fire."I asked, "Who are these people?"They replied, "These are the orators of the worldly life, those who used to command people to righteousness while forgetting themselves, even as they recited the Book. Will they not then understand?"
قال رسول الله ﷺ: مررت ليلة أسري بي على قوم تقرض شفاههم بمقاريض من نار، قال: قلت: من هو لاء؟ قالوا: خطباء من أهل الدنيا ممن كانوا يأمرون الناس بالبر، وينسون أنفسهم، و هو يتلون الكتاب أفلا يعقلون.
