I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "There is no envy except in two cases. A man whom Allah has given the Book and who recites it throughout the night and throughout the day, and a man whom Allah has given wealth and who gives it in charity throughout the night and throughout the day."
سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول: لا حسد إلا على اثنتين: رجل آتاه الله الكتاب فقام به آناء الليل وآناء النهار، ورجل آتاه الله مالا فتصدق به آناء الليل وآناء النهار.
Bukhari narrated it in Fadail al-Quran (5025), and Muslim in Salat al-Musafirin (815:267), both of them from the route of Ibn Shihab Zuhri, who said, Salim bin Abdullah bin Umar informed me, from his father, who said, then he mentioned it.
