Abdullah bin Abbas reported,

Musaylimah the Liar came to Medina during the time of the Prophet ﷺ and began saying, "If Muhammad grants me succession after him, I will follow him." He arrived with a large group of his people. The Prophet ﷺ approached him, accompanied by Thabit bin Qays bin Shammas, with a piece of palm branch in his hand, until he stood before Musaylimah among his companions. The Prophet ﷺ said, "If you were to ask me for this piece, I would not give it to you. I will not go beyond what Allah has decreed concerning you. If you turn away, Allah will surely destroy you. I truly believe you are the one shown to me in what I was shown. This is Thabit, who will answer you on my behalf."Then he turned away from him.Ibn Abbas said, I asked about the Prophet's ﷺ statement, "I truly believe you are the one shown to me in what I was shown."Abu Hurairah informed me that the Prophet ﷺ had said, "While I was sleeping, I saw on my arms two bracelets of gold, and they troubled me. It was revealed to me in the dream to blow on them, so I blew, and they flew away. I interpreted them as two liars who would emerge after me. One of them was al-Ansi, the master of Sanaa, and the other was Musaylimah, the master of al-Yamamah."
