Hadrami reported that Tariq bin Suwayd al-Jufi asked the Prophet ﷺ about wine, and he forbade him from making it, or expressed dislike for him making it.Tariq said, "I only make it as medicine."The Prophet ﷺ replied, "It is not a medicine, but rather a disease."

Muslim narrated it in the Book of Drinks (1984:12) through several routes from Muhammad bin Jafar, who said, Shuba narrated to us, from Simak bin Harb, from Alqama bin Waail, from his father Waail Hadrami, and he related it.Hammad bin Salama narrated it from Simak bin Harb, from Tariq bin Suwayd, making it part of the narration of Tariq, as will follow.
