A group of people came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he accepted the pledge of allegiance from nine of them but withheld it from one. They asked, "Messenger of Allah, you have taken the pledge from nine and left this one?"He replied, "He is wearing an amulet."The man then put his hand in and tore it off, and the Prophet ﷺ accepted his pledge, saying, "Whoever wears an amulet has committed shirk."
Reported by Ahmad (17422), and Tabarani in Al-Kabir (17/319–320), and Hakim declared it sahih (4/219), all of them from the hadith of Yazid bin Abu Mansur, from Dukhayn Hajri, from Uqba bin Amir, who narrated it.Its chain is hasan because of Yazid bin Abu Mansur, who is Azdi, Abu Rawh Basri, for he is hasan al-hadith, and Abu Hatim said, "There is no harm in him."
