The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah is more delighted at the repentance of His servant than any one of you who finds his lost camel after losing it in a barren land."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: الله أفرح بتوبة عبده من أحدكم، سقط على بعيره، وقد أضله في أرض فلاة.
Bukhari related it in the Book of Supplications (6309), and Muslim in the Book of Repentance (8:2747), both through Hammam, who said, we were told by Qatada, who said, we were told by Anas bin Malik, and he mentioned it. The wording given is Bukhari's. In Muslim's wording it reads, "When he wakes up upon his camel," except that Nawawi holds this to be a mistake, and the correct version is what appears in Sahih Bukhari. His saying, "he fell upon his camel," means he found it without searching or exertion.
