The Prophet ﷺ used to seek refuge from knowledge that brings no benefit, a prayer that is not heard, a heart that does not feel humility, and a soul that is never satisfied.
كان النبي ﷺ يتعوذ من علم لا ينفع، ودعاء لا يسمع، وقلب لا يخشع، ونفس لا تشبع.
Nasai (5442) and Ahmad (6557) both narrated it from the hadith of Abdul-Rahman, that is, Ibn Mahdi, from Sufyan, from Abu Sinan, from Abdullah bin Abu Huzayl, from Abdullah bin Amr, and he mentioned it. Its chain of transmission is sahih.Tirmidhi (3482) narrated it through another route from Abdullah bin Amr, and he said afterward, "This is a hasan sahih gharib hadith by this route from the hadith of Abdullah bin Amr."
